User Access from Non-Domain system using Mail client like Outlook.

Hi All,

I have a secutiation where a VIP user want to Configure our Exchange mail on his desktop. But the desktop is not under our domain and located in some remote location. And when the user try to open Outlook every time the Outlook ask for credential validation. User only type the user name like :- testuser and the password. Which is not accepted by the outlook.

We check that if we put "domail\testuser and password than only the authentication made successfully. Now I need to know is their any possible way to make it simple like put just username / password to access mail from outside.

I Already checked the following :-

1. User computer is not in Domain.

2. User have direct Internet connection.

3. Remember password is also not working for non-domain computer.

Note :- In my organization out email syntax is testuser@mycompany.com where as the present domain FQDN is MCPAN.COM and I also see that if user can only type MCPAN\Username and Password than only the domain accept the authentication from Outside.

Please su

Hi,

If you only type username instead of domain\username, the username cant be resolved with an exact email address. If you are using Domain\username, the username can be resolved in the Active Directory of Domain.

As a workaround, we can use emailaddress (testuser@mycompany.com) with Password for Exchange authentication instead of Domain\username (mycompany.com\testuser). If you accept this workaround, please configure users UserPrincipalName (UPN) to match their PrimarySmtpAddress. Then users will logon with the email address and password. In your scenario, please make sure the mycompany.com is your windows domain as well as the email domain which is the user's UPN suffix.

Thanks for the revert.

But actually I want to stop the authentication pop-up every time while opening Outlook on a non domain system.

My Requirement :-

1. To stop asking for password while using Outlook on a non-domain system.

2. Enable always remember password in Outlook for Non-Domain user.

3. If authentication required than I just put the user ip without mention domain and password.
