On a desktop with this problem, check if the user is authenticated to Exchange GC. You can check this by looking into the connection status of outlook (Right click on outlook task bar icon and select connection status)

Hi, The Global Address List contains global distribution lists ,public folder e-mail addresses and e-mail addresses of everyone in Exchange organization. When using Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 with Cached Exchange Mode, the Offline Address Book is downloaded by default and updated once every 24 hours. “Disconneted from network and after rebooting his desktop” force outlook 2003 updating Global Address. It seems there is no issue updating Global Address List. You could update Global Address List manually as following methods. Method 1. Right click on outlook task bar icon and select connection status, click reconnect. Method 2. Press “send and receive” to update Global Address List. If you make frequent changes to the offline address book, you may want to modify the way that Outlook computers on your network access the Address Book. You can disable the downloading of the offline address book and force the Outlook computers to use the online Global Address List when they use Cached Exchange Mode. Hi Frank thanks for you help the issue was faces by no. of users so finally found the solution for this the Distribution List issue we are seeing. The issue is that one DC has not been added to the StaticExcludedDomainControllers list on the Exchange servers. DC’s need to be added to this list so they are not used by Exchange DS Proxy which will affect our Outlook clients. we have to update the StaticExcludedDomainControllers list.
