User receiving multiple emails per day from the same user..
Hello everyone, First of all we run exchange 2000 on a Windows 2000 server machine. We also run a mix of Windows 2003 and 2000 server machines. Here is my issue: Let's use names here because its easier; Jennifer sent an email to Linda. Linda responded and then Jennifer responded back. Now Linda receives the same response from Jennifer 20-40 times a day in her inbox. Jennifer is not responding back this is happening when she is not even at her desk. Jennifer is runningWindowsXP sp2 Linda is running Windows 2000 pro. They are running Office XP or Office 2003 Now my question is, how do I get this to stop? Thanks! Gary

Hi Gary, Please enable message tracking to check whether the message is delivered several times. Please also let me know how the Outlook connects to Exchange, RPC or POP3? If the message is delivered several times, I think that issue related to the send client or the Exchange Server, please temporarily close Jennifers Outlook to check the result. If the message is only delivered once and Linda receives multi copies of the message, please attempt the following methods on Lindas Outlook to troubleshoot the issue: Step 1: Temporarily clear the Rules: ============================== 1. Please firstly export the Rules from Lindas Outlook by refer to the following article: Import or export a set of rules http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HP052429261033.aspx 2. Close and restart Outlook by running (Outlook.exe /cleanrules) to clean the rules 3. Please use MFCMapi tool to check no corrupted rule still persists: How to delete corrupted and hidden rules from a single mailbox in Outlook 2003 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/924297 Step 2: Clean third-party add-ins ======================== 1. Click on start --> Run.2. Type Regedit.exe and Click ok.3. Export the registry key: Hkey_local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins HKey_Current_user\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins 4. Delete the Add-in key from Hkey_local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook HKey_Current_user\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook . 5. Close and reopen outlook client. And monitor if the issue reoccurs for this user. Step 3: Create a new user profile for Linda Note: Please use Online Mode instead of Cached Mode. Please configure only one account in the profile. Please configure the mailbox store as default delivery location. Mike
