User unable to add a delegate cant add via EMC
User receives an error very similar to this error http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950794 when trying to add a delegate. I tried to add the delegate to the users mailbox through EMC and receive Set-Mailbox Error: Couldnt find object xxxx/xxxx/xxxx Please make sure that it was spelled correctly or specify a different object. Reason: The recipient xxxxx/xxxx/xxx/xx osmt the expected type. This error is referring to a inactive user object? I get the same error even I try to add my account?

Can you run get-mailbox youraccount |FL isresource is it set to false? Also run set-mailbox youraccount -applymandatoryproperties than try setting your account as a delegate again.James Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com

I forgot to mention that we are in a EX2010 environment. All mailboxes are false, they are not a resource.Jason

Hi GabooN, Please navigate to ADSIEDIT.MSC->Default naming context->DC=domain,DC=com, Open the Properties of xxxx/xxxx/xxxx, check the Attribute:PublicDelegates. Please make a copy of value then remove the user whom you want to add as a delegate.Frank Wang TechNet Community Support
