User unable to connect to Screen sharing - Lync Online

Hi!

First off this is my first post here on TechNet so I apologize if this is posted in the wrong section.

The problem a user is having is related to him not beeing able to see/share his screen/application using Lync Online from time to time. Lets call him "User A" and the external contact "User B" for this exampel.

User B shares his/her screen to User A and Users A's Lync just prompts him with the generic "There is a network issue, try again later". The next day they try the same thing (User B shares to User A) and it works flawlessly.

Another instance when the problem occured was when User A was in a larger meeting with User B (who is external). User A and his colleague was in a meeting with 30+ people and User B shared his/her screen. It worked for every one except for User A.

In my troubleshooting I've tried to share my screen/application (I'm external as well) to User A without any issue and I have shared the same to him in a group conversation, same result, it works.

Looking through the logs I found the following in the "Lync-AppSharingMediaProvider-0.AppSharingMediaProvide"-log.

8CC:1A8 INFO  :: CAppsharingMediaProvider::StartLogging: tracing enabled
8CC:1A8 ERROR :: CAppsharingMediaProviderSession::CompleteNegotiation - CAppsharingMediaProviderSession::CompleteNegotiation failed: lResult=-2147019873
8CC:1A8 INFO  :: CRDPRTPTransportStream::Terminate - MediaManager terminates appsharing media provider session
8CC:1A8 WARN  :: CAppsharingMediaProviderSession::AddAppSharingNode - no tns:InboundStream stream node
8CC:1A8 TRACE :: CAppsharingMediaProviderSession::AddAppSharingMetricsToReport: Condition failed with 80004003: 'spAppShareNode != 0'. Invalid spAppSharingNode pointer
8CC:1A8 WARN  :: CAppsharingMediaProviderSession::GetQoEData - AddAppSharingMetricsToReport failed hr = 80004003
8CC:1A8 INFO  :: CRDPRTPTransportStream::Close - RDP session closed

I must admit that I'm not familar enough with Lync to understand this error. The What I found while googling pointed me to awnsers saying that they need a Lync edge server. But since they use Lync online I find it unlikely.

So I'd love some help with this, I am happy for what ever help I can get.

Thanks in advance

Axel

Hi,

"User A and his colleague was in a meeting with 30+ people and User B shared his/her screen." Please let me know whether User A is in the same network environment as other people.

Also, by "external", do you mean the User B is in another organization?

Based on the provided description, there's no issue between User B and other people, basically the federation has been setup correctly. What causes the problem may be specific to the User A or User B's client.

If possible, please let User A logon a new computer, check if the problem persists; on the contrary, let the User B logon a new computer to test. The result may be helpful to determine which side the problem is actually on.
