Hi Occasionally, we have reports that users to one Exchange 2007 SP1 HR9 server (Windows 2008 Server) get disconnected from Exchange. Although they are using Cached mode in their Outlook, they can't send-recv email. Nothing in the Event Viewer. Questions: 1. Does anyone know any troubleshooting tools to run? 2. Is there a limit to how many MAPI connections are server can accept? 3. How can I find out the number of concurrent and 'spare' MAPI connections? 4. Any particular Perfmon counters to use?

You can Increase the disgnostic logging on the server. EMC\server object\server right pane will show diagnostic logging enable for appropriate counters, Breaking of Client sessions will definaltely throw an event in event viewer. Also check for MSexchangeAD access events ...

Hi, Are you receiving event 9694 in your application /system logs in event viewer ? any events so far warnign, error you suspect ?

Go to ESM, Select you your administrative group,/....servers/..your_server/mailbox_store/select LOGONSright click and select ADD/remove columns .. select Messaging ops open attachements folders other ops... total ops rpc call succeeded etc etc Now when consider any client logged on , he can have a maximum of 32 sessions open else he will get disconnected from exchange and an event LOGGED 9694. If you are receiving 9694 events then it is a sort of network issue.if you are using WIFI then youed to upgrade the firmware.
