Users cant receive mail
0 Hello, I have a SBS Server 2003. From yesterday at noon I can't receive any mail on our server. Everything has been working fine for about 7 months and yesterday this problem appeared. I don't know where to begin the diagnostics, I noticed that the POP3 mailbox connector remains stuck in Downloading email and above 127 msgs in failed mail folder. Any help is more than welcomed..MCTS...

Yes, I have tried that. I have read forum questions and articles.... The errors in the event logs are related to a timeout during the download of the mail, and one or more messages have been donwloaded with erros. But I dont see any email anywhere....Checked the incoming mail folder, and a mail appears while POP3 connector is Dowloading mail but after a while it dissapears. Any help is appreciated.MCTS...

Hi I just talk with SBS colleagues. According to our policy, you should post your thread to SBS forum. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/smallbusinessserver/threads You can post log and other relevant information to it. Do you log on your pop3 provider web site and check the email. One corrupt email(too large, junk character) will cause this error too. It is not server problem.

Sure, sorry about that... The errors came from my POP3 connector. I looked in the event log(Application) and this is what I found: The downloading process for mailbox <xxx@xxx.xx [mail.xxx.xx]> was ended with one or more errors. An error occurred with the connection to the POP3 server (mailbox <xxx@xxx.xx [xxx.xxx.xx]>) while downloading the message <id:{ADA49D84-9667-40E6-A076-5C6C3B3AB466}>. The error is 10060 (A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond. So I went to Webmail, logged on to that account, moved/saved the next emails that couldn't be downloaded. Then went to the POP3 connnection manager, click Retrieve now, and worked like a charm. Thank you!MCTS...
