Users receiving external mail - why can't they?
Hi, in an office situation and trying to sort out user emails for all of our staff. We have set up separate user email accounts on our server and there is no issue with the staff sending emails from them, or receiving internal office mail. However, when an email is sent from an address outside of our company to them, it does not go to their mailbox but to the central mailbox. Due to security and sensitivity issues, we do not want all our staff to view the central mailbox, but we do want them to receive their emails without us having to constantly organise forwarding them for them from the central mailbox. What do we do? Version is 08.03.0083.000

To better understand the problem got few questions. What’s the SMTP Address of the central mailbox? What are the SMTP address of the all these users accounts? When they send internally what address do they use? Does the internal address different then the external one? Where is the email being sent to? Which email address? If the email address is for the central mailbox then that is where it will go You can setup a forward on that mailbox to forward to the users Or you can use a transport rule to forward the email which comes from outside to their mailboxes. Or put all the users in a DG (mail enabled) and send their. Or you can move the email address to a DL, give the central mailbox another email address (do this 1st) and put the users and central mailbox in the DL so they all get the email. Sukh
