Using ExMerge creates 32K .pst files
Hi,
I'm using ExMerge to create .pst files for users who are no longer with the company so that we can view their accounts in Outlook. I've created a Security Group and added myself to it. I've delegated control of the store sothe Security Group I created hasSend as and Recive as permissions; I've logged off and on to refresh the access token. I run the ExMerge utility and it creates the .pst file, but it's only 32K in size and nothing is visible in Outlook.
Running Exchange 2000 with Service Pack 3 and ExMerge version 6.5.7529.0
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Take a look at the ExMerge LOG file that is created. I'm betting that you don't have permissions. If you are a member of Domain Admins or Enterprise Admins, those groups are explicitly denied Send As and Receive As permissions, so that would override any other permissions you might have given yourself.
Is this useful for you?

All the settings are correct when it comes to Domain and Enterprise Admins or any other group that I'm a member of. Where is the log file created? I've look at where ExMerge is located and there is a file called Mailboxes.txt, nothing in there about any errors, just the pointer to where the mailbox was.

You're looking for the: exmerge.log Usually in: C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\bin

You're correct, it is stating that permissions might not be correct; here's the error in the log:
[09:33:23] Error opening message store (MSEMS). Verify that the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service is running and that you have the correct permissions to log on. (0x8004011d)[09:33:23] Errors encountered. Copy process aborted for mailbox 'Amy Guenther' ('AGUENTHER').[09:33:23] Number of items copied from the source store for all mailboxes processed: 0[09:33:23] Total number of folders processed in the source store: 0[09:33:23] 0 mailboxes successfully processed. 1 mailboxes were not successfully processed. 0 non-fatal errors encountered.[09:33:23] Process completion time: 00:00:00
I've checked all permissions and they seem to be correct, Receive as and Send as are set to allow for pretty much everything, except the Everyone group; the Information Store service is running.

You need to set the permissions on the Mailbox Store within Exchange Administrator
Grant Send As and Recieve As to the user you are logged on as (e.g administrator)
The security tab within the users permissions is not the place to set these - as they are not Mailbox Store Specific
