View concurrent MAPI sessions of user
HiWe are running Exchange 2003 SP2.Occasionally, I am getting 9646 errors in the Event Log of our mailbox server: "User exceeded the maximum of 32 objects of type 'session'"There doesn't appear to be any patern to this. If I go to Exchange System Manager > Server > Storage Group > Store > Logons, then I can see what seems to be open MAPI sessions. Is it when these exceed 32 that the limit is reached? Does ESM actually list the open MAPI sessions, or could some of these be historic? I know there are reg keys etc to extend the limit, but I was more interested in what the Logons view actually showed? Thanks in advance

I would recommned using Exmon to view mapi sessions and clients:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=9A49C22E-E0C7-4B7C-ACEF-729D48AF7BC9&displaylang=en

Hi AndySure, will do...Out of interest, does the Logons view on ESM show historical (i.e. possibly closed) MAPI sessions, or current MAPI sessions only?

Its really just a snapshot of the current logons. You can add columns showing client ip, etc..., but Exmon is much better for historical information and tracing.
