Visio: Data Graphics Compare 2 fields from External Data Window

Can anyone help?  I am using External Data Window with 6 records from Excel.  I want to compare "Number YTD" with "Total Time Spent (hrs)"

I am using Data Graphics drop down from Data Graphics option.  Entering "Total Time Spent (hrs)" from data field drop down.  Then Displayed as a Icon Set.

Under Rules:

Total Time Spent     Greater Than....

Can not get the correct format to select "Number YTD" field

I am thinking I should be selecting "Enter an expression" or "Use Custom formula" from More fields options. Does anyone have the solution?

Hi,

If you want to select data, then I think you'd better do it in Excel, Excel will be easier to work with data. Then if you want to draw some icons, then import Excel data into Visio to do that.

I can do that.  I was hoping it could be done in Visio......

Thanks for the input again.

calculated fields based on existing data in a single record are always better handled in the source.

I discoverer yesterday that I could copy my Bar Chart from Excel and use Special Paste with link option so that I get the updates from Excel when the data values change in Excel.  :}
