Visio 2013 & thmx
Hi All

Can I use the THMX designes used in Powerpoint and Word in Visio 2013 as well?

It seams as that the design is not the same in Visio as it is in Word/PowerPoint.

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

According to your description, my understanding is that you want to use thmx file as template in Visio 2013.

Based on my research, the tamplate between Word and Visio is different. Document Themes with the Office Open XML Formats apply to Word and PowerPoint. Please refer to the following link:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc964302(v=office.12).aspx

Following this, if you only want to custom the themes in Visio 2013, we may add a background graphic to all pages in your Visio drawing as a template. Please refer to the following link:

If you want to costom the shapes, structure or other format in Visio, Please read the article about "How to create a custom template for Visio"(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/294245/en-us)

Hello Martin,

Not really, no.  Visio 2013 uses a similar structure to thmx under the covers (drawingml) but also includes a pretty broad range of Visio extensions that are currently not seen elsewhere in Office.

I recently wrote a number of posts on the new themes structure within Visio 2013 which you might be interested in:
