Hello,
I have been working on this on and off again for the past few days. Still have not been able to crack the nut.
I downloaded the Visio 2013 64-bit trail (VisioProfessional_x64_en-us.img - it's 444MB) from Technet. At first I had issues getting a product key but found some instructions here on how to reset my browser settings and that seemed to work. So I'm square on the file and the key.
I tried double clicking the file to kick of the installation and I get an error message (Sorry, couldn't mount the file). I found some more helpful suggestions online and have tried
- renaming to .iso -> Double click. That didn't work
- renaming to .exe -> Double click. That didn't work
Do I have to make a disc for this to work? I have two issues if this is the case...
1) I'm on a Surface Pro, so no burner.
2) in one of the two renaming tests above it told me that the file was corrupt. I don't want to waste a disc.
Anyone else having this issue or have any further suggestions?
Thanks!
