This question has been asked previously, but the answer is not sufficient. In the older versions of Visio, all you had to do was right-click and select the "set as default" option to set the default style for lines/connectors/shapes.

Where is this option for Visio 2013? No, I do not want to have to edit my custom template just to set a default style for lines/connectors/shapes. SETTING A DEFAULT SHOULD BE A BASIC FUNCTION.

Do I need to edit the themes? Because that option does not appear either. Do I need to create a custom theme? How does one do that?

Why should this be so difficult? It was a simple click-select before.

Neither of these answered the questions.

The question is related to a connector, which you should not have to pull from the shape library.

You should be able to set the line type/color/arrow style of a connector selected from the connector tool.

Exactly. I have spent more time trying to get this 2013 to work in my favor, than I have done any actual work.

I just want to be able to pick my connector tool. Set the line weight, the connector ends, etc. and use that throughout my drawing. I do NOT want to drag the connector from my favorites or edit every single line to match the connector I want. Yep, can use the paintbrush tool, but this is ridiculous.

Where is the option to set a default line weight, line style, line ends, color, etc. and have THAT one be my default from now on?

I havent found the answer yet, but i did find another way around it that may help

There is a comman called Last Line.  If you throw it onto your ribbon (which I absolutely abhor) you can click it then just drag your line where you want
