I would consider myself quite familiar with Visio, but have gotten rather stumped on a particular problem.
I have created a floor plan which displays Ethernet outlets, and imported a set of data from excel and linked it to these shapes. As the floor plan is quite congested the text from the data graphics overlaps?
My question is, can i set my data graphics only to show when I have selected that shape?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The selection event is not fired on the shape object, it is fired on the window object

as part of your code you would get the list of 'selected' shapes and then your code can move forward from there.
