Vista Ultimate Standard User wont load
Iam using Windows Vista Ultimate. I have two user accounts set up, my Administrator account and a Standard account. The Administrator account works just fine, but every time I try to load the Standard account, it takes me to a blank, blue screen. I tried waiting for two whole hours, and when I came back it was still blank. I can open the Task Manager on this blank screen using CTRL+ALT+DEL, and it shows there are only four processes running:csrss.exedwm.exetaskmgr.exewinlogon.exeI have tried running explorer.exe from the task manager, but to no effect: the screen remained blank and explorer.exe never showed up on the Processes list. Also, when I try to run a process from the Task Manager, the "Browse" button doesn't work (I can press it but it doesn't do anything). I have tried to go in and do a system restore, but the problem persist. The only way that I can get into the Standard account is to change it to an administrator account, but once I change it back it stops working again. Also when I tried to create a new standard user account it did the same thing and wouldn't let me login. The accounts worked fine a week ago. Does anyone know what's going on?

Hi thereI have EXACTLY the same issue as yourself (except Vista Home Basic) Two AdminTwo StandardBoth Admin are okayBoth Standard log onto a black screen - where, as you say, onle CTRL-ALT-DEL work, and only those 4 processes are running...I'm startting to think that a recent patch/hotfix may have caused this issue.Hopefully someone can help both of us out with this one....

Add me to this list... Well, not me in, but a friend of mine. Same problem, out of the clear blue. Any help would be great!

Similar problem here (with more info): http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic134202.html
It seems that making an Administrator account and then downgrading it to a Standard User won't cause this behavior. Any ideas?
