Volume Shadow Copy Revert does not release space immediately when a snap shot is reverted
Hi All,I'm wondering if you can help me with a problem I am having. I'm using Volume Shadow Copy to perform state management in an automated testing environment in windows server 2003 R2 Standard Edition. The idea being I have a drive that I take a snapshot of and then when a test case is complete I revert back to the snapshot. The drive is running in a non persistent VMware but that shouldn't make any difference I believe.....The problem I am having is that every time I revert back to the snapshot I lose disk space. So for instance - The drive that has 1.1GB of space.- I take a snapshot and the size increases to 1.39GB- I then revert back to the original. However now I have 1.39GB of space.Where did the missing space go?Hope you can help ThanksAndrew

Given that the disk space is eventually released I increased the volume size to 8GB. Hopefully the revert doesn't run often enough to use up the 8GB drive before it is released.
