Weird things downloading Attachements
Hello all, I'm running exchange 2007 sp2 onmy organization. One day somebody sent a .cfm (coldfusion file) to an email box of my exchange email boxes and turns out that when downloading the file the receiver wasn't able to see the content , instead, the file had a -sort of already processed html file- not the cfm source code. I made a test with gmail and noticed that they automatically zip the file when you donwload it, otherwise if you click just 'open' you can see the same -sort of already processed html file-.I understand that because thisis about a Application Server file, when downloading the file is like processed. But what is the real explanation on this? I would also como up with a solution to be able to send .cfm files without a problem. Thanks in advance,john3d

Hi John3d, I'm not clear about your question. You could not open the .cfm file and you would like to send .cfm files without a problem? Could you please clarify the question? Regarding the .cfm file, you may need corresponding software to open it or use notepad to open it. Thanks, Elvis

Thanks for the answer. My bad. I meant " I woul like to download .cfm files without a problem". Here is the thing:Say there is a file called index.cfm with the following code:...<cftags> doc.write("hello world");</cftags>...If I send that file through email, when I download it I only can see the text "hello world" in the file, instead of the whole content (cftags.. etc). It's like when downloading the browser or something is trying to process the file as If I would be opening the file in the browser.Don't know how to solve it yet.Regards,John3d

Hi, What application do you use to open the index.cfm file after you download it? What application do you use to edit the file before sending the mail? Make sure you're using the same application, e.g. notepad. Thanks,Elvis

Hey Elvis, I'm using the same applications. One thing more I can say is that if the size of the original file is 32Kb, when downloading it is only 2kb.Regards,John3d

Yes it works. The thing is that I would like to make this process (zip the file) automatically. Or... find a way to fix it.Regards,John3d
