What is the easiest way to create alias email addresses in exchange 2013?

For example my official domain is mycompany@godaddy.com

Within my company i want to make it look like certain departments are sending from bicycles.com skateboards.com

and skooters.com and receive to those addresses even though the emails are really going through the

mycompany@godaddy.com domain. but it appears to be coming from three other domains.

appearance is everything. What is the easiest way to accomplish this.

Step by step with examples if possible. I am not well versed in exchange server 201

In Exchange 2013 you can use the ECP to add additional email addresses to mailboxes. In order for a mailbox to send using an address, that address needs to be set as the reply address. One mailbox cannot send as multiple addresses. Doing that would require a mailbox for each address. To set a new primary address on a mailbox log into the ECP and choose mailboxes under the recipients option on the left. Then search for the mailbox you want to add the address to and click the edit symbol. Navigate to the Email Address tab on the left. To set a new primary address you will likely need uncheck the box for "Automatically update email addresses based on the email address policy applied to this recipient". Then click the plus button, enter the new address, and check the box for "Make this the reply address"

Before you do this you should ensure that the proper MS records exist for these other domains, and that they are properly configured for mail flow. Once you set this as the reply address for a mailbox, that is the address external users will use for replies.

Thanks for that I can probably just create separate users and mailboxes for the users.

If I forward other mx and a records to my servers public ip in godaddy the first one won't stop working correct?

How many domain names can I forward to my external ip?

I have one alias they want to use right now I want to try it on a test user with a mailbox I create in exchange 2013.

Also what priority do the a and mx records on the other domain need to

Correct. You can point MX records for multiple domains to the same public IP address. You need to also make sure that the domain is added as an accepted domain in Exchange 2013 - https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124423(v=exchg.150).aspx. Theoretically you could point any domain you own to this same IP address. There is no specifically defined limit I am aware of for accepted domains in Exchange.

There are some extra considerations when using multiple SMTP domains around autodiscover externally: http://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/exchange-server-2010/mobility-client-access/using-autodiscover-large-numbers-accepted-domains-part1.html.

You can set the priority to what you want (I usually just go with 10). Priority doesn't really come into play unless you are pointing your MX record to multiple public IP's.

My A record for my primary domain is host:servername

forward to:ip address

ttl: default

I tried to create the same a record to point to the server from the other domain name also in godaddy, and got

These records were  not processed due to errors:

The specified cname already exists in the zone A-mail.

How do I get around this?

Nevermind I forgot to remove the dummy file.

Making aliases is a lot easier than renaming the domain.
