Why am I getting event id 9554 when deleting user mailbox
I am getting the following error from users after I remove the account from the Excahneg server. This removes the AD account obviously so i can see why it is having a problem or generating the error since the account no longer exist.Unable to update Mailbox SD in the DS. Mailbox Guid: 388f3062-f251-40af-94bb-b4b8a798fef8. Error Code 0x80070005My question is did I set something up wrong that causes this problem when i delete users from our company? I can't find a way to delete the mail account without deletig the AD account. My server is 2007 SP1.thanks

To disable the mailbox and remove the Exchange attributes from an accountuse the disable-mailbox command:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997210.aspxOr Disable the account in the EMC.As you have seen, remove-mailbox, removes both the mailbox and AD account.

Do you certain that the mailbox listed in the event is the deleted one? Get-mailbox | where {($_.exchangeguid -eq 388f3062-f251-40af-94bb-b4b8a798fef8} Per my knowledge, event can appear if the account is no longer mailbox enabled, as you have removed it. If theres no further error info about this mailbox, we shall safely ignore the event Related resources: Troubleshooting Event ID 9554 using ADFind Utility Event ID 9554 Appears After You Modify Mailbox Permissions

Although it appeasrs the errors stop after the mailbox is eventual flushed from the "disconnected" status it would be better to use the disable to get the disconnection first. Thanks
