Will Microsoft discontinue Public Folders in the near future?
Good morning all, Ive heard some rumors about Microsoft discontinuing Public Folders in the past, then I think it was kept available in Exchange 2010, correct? Are there plans to eventually remove Public Folders from Exchange in the near future? I ask as I have one particular office that seems to place all their users emails into public folders for sharing, whereas our other offices place the emails into a shared network drive. Id like to keep it uniform across the company. Thanks in advance...

You won't get an answer about the existence of PFs in Exchange V-next but you should be comfortable with the fact that PF support is in Exchange 2010 given what you know about how long 2010 will be supported for, I.e. years into the future. If you need PFs in the year 2030 and whoever owns Exchange after Washington state has been consumed by the devastation from some volcano you will just stay with the last version that supported PFs.
