Windows Server 2008 and Exchange 2007 SP1
I have a new install of Server 2008 64-bit on a Lenovo TD100 with 6GB of RAM and a quad-Xeon. I am attempting to install Exchange 2007 onto it. I've installed IIS and all of the other roles it needs. I've run prepareAD and it set up well (after I learned that you need Exchange SP1. The books only talk about Exchange 2007 and Server 2003). So, I'm trying to install Exchange and it immediately tells me that I need IIS installed. I already installed it, but it cannot find the metabase (?). It also eludes to numerous other IIS settings and things it cannot find including the default website. So, I went back to server manager and added every feature imaginable to the IIS installation. Still no luck. Exact same errors. When I click on the link in the error, it take me to Server 2003 help. Does Microsoft not support Exchange 2007 on Server 2008? If they do, why all these problems just installing it without up-to-date help on their products? Does anyone have the answer to my problem? I'd love to get this up and running in the next few weeks. Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, Exchange 2007 works with Windows 2008 but you can install only Exchange 2007 SP1 on it. So make sure that you have downloaded correct setup source of Ex2k7 SP1 and followed below prerequisites. How to Install Exchange 2007 SP1 Prerequisites on Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vistahttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb691354.aspxStep by step installation procedure...Installing Exchange 2007 on Windows Server 2008http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/migration-deployment/installing-exchange-2007-windows-server-2008.htmlAmit Tank | MVP Exchange Server | MCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

Thanks, it worked and there were no error messages except this one:Warning:If Outlook Web Access is in use, you should replicate the free/busy folder on this server to every other free/busy server in the organization. This step should be performed once Setup completesWhat does this mean and if I need to do something, what is it that I need to do? Yes, we use web access on our 2003 installation.Thanks.
