I am working on a medium-size document (~60 pages).

At some point, I changed something in one of the pages (style, content). After that, Word crashes whenever I enter that page.

The same happens with Office 365 online. Tried several installations of Office 2013, and the same happens everywhere.

If I copy the contents to a new blank file, they work, but I lose the original document template. If I try to create a new document using the same template and paste the contents, it crashes again.

The problem seems to be some weird combination of a specific template and some content or style.

What can I do about this? What can be causing it?

Hi,

Seemingly you have found the cause of the issue, "combination of a specific template and some content or style".

Check if the issue persists if Word is in Safe Mode:

Press Win + R, type "winword.exe /safe" in the blank box, press Enter.

Then browse to this document to open it, check the result.

In addition, maybe we can find useful information from the event logs to determine the root cause of the issue:

Press Win + R, type "eventvwr" in the blank box, press Enter.

Browse to Windows Logs -> Application, find the error about this crash issue.
