Hello,

We have Word 2013 on Windows Server 2012R2. All updates (including updates of august 2015) are installed. Users work with Word by Remote Desktop.
When users work in "Print Layout" view with tables (even only move mouse over them) the Word consumes about 10-20 % of CPU. This is very many because on this server must work many people.
This occur even if there is only one page with only one small table (30-40 rows)

Please help me understand how can I change settings of Word in order to avoid mentioned consuming of CPU.

Hi,

The Word 2013 performance issue might due to several factors. I recommend you use Windows Performance Monitor to collect log data for analysis.

Before this, please disable add-ins, hardware acceleration etc... You can analyze by yourself if you would like to or send to us (ibsofc@microsoft.com)

I have received your log, and read it. But there was no detailed information about this issue, only showed WinWord occupied 40% of CPU at some points.

I have received your log, and analyzed it. Please see this image:

WinWord worked properly, there is no any error or abnormal symbols. I suppose that this issue might be caused by the hardware, such as CPU compute capacity limitation.

Based on my experience, the 10%-20% of CPU usage is in the normal range. Thus, I recommend you change a sever to check this issue if possible.

Unfortunately we cannot spend 10% of CPU for moving of mouse only. Because this is a server, and many people work with it through Remote Desktop :(
I thunk there are some more settings that I can turn off to economize of CPU. Auto-formatting of table, painting of icons near table etc...

Sorry for reply delay, based on my research, I did not find more the possible options that might effect the performance. Could you change a physics server to test, because the hardware is also an important component.
