Worksheets not drawing in Office 365

The issue is that when opening an Excel file, it shows as blank (as if no data or cells are being drawn). You can click into the worksheet space, and see that the data is showing in the formula bar, so the data is certainly there, it is just as if it is not being drawn. Un-maximizing the window then will draw the data, you can then maximize or snap the window and the data remains showing. Likewise, if hide the formula bar, the data shows, then can show the formula bar and it remains. If save the file, whether it has been edited or not, that particular file is then "fixed" and will reopen from that location fine.  The issue happens when opening files saved to desktop, user folders (local or network), or from Outlook attachment.

This began with one system in several that was upgraded from Office 2013 ProPlus to Office 365 ProPlus. Office 2013 was removed with the Office 2013 C2R removal tool, prior to installing 365. Office 365 was applied after restart and is currently version 15.0.4745.1000.

Changing the option for Run: Normal/Maximized/Minimized window on the shortcut does not appear to affect any change on the window opening maximized/fully snapped. Changing window size of Excel, then closing does not save the open state of the window. Disabled 2nd monitor to verify that it was not opening in some strange location on the 2nd monitor.

If there is something that I'm missing in my searches for a fix, please help me out. I would appreciate a pointer to a patch for this issue if it exists. A registry setting/hack to force the window to open in different maximize/non-full screen modes for testing would even be helpful.

EDIT:
I tried enabling Ignore other applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE), no change. Selecting all via CTRL+A and removing formatting does not help. Changing fonts does not help. I verified no repeat fonts are installed. Used Quick Repair and Online Repair options in Programs and Features to attempt to correct, but no change.

Hi belrager,

Based on your description, my understanding is that you opened an excel file, this file is blank. But when you double click the cell you can see the data, if you don't maximized window you will see the data. Is my understanding correct?

Have you ever tried to open the excel file in safe mode? I suggest you try to open the excel file in safe mode and check if it works fine.

Did you get any error messages when open the excel file?

Have you ever tried to check if these files worked fine in other computers?

If possible, I suggest you provide a screenshot about the blank data and a sample file to our email address:

Please Note: Please add the URL of the case in the email subject or body.

Any update please let me know, I'm glad to help and follow up your reply.

There are no error messages or codes generated. The file opens, and just shows a blank screen (see the screen shots in email on the way shortly). I have verified all Add Ins are disabled. The files open fine on other systems running Office 365.

Hi belrager,

I received your email, I used to have the same issue and I restarted my computer to resolve this issue.

This is not a common question, I suggest you try this method:
Go to File- Options- Advanced- Check the box next to "Disable hardware graphics acceleration"

You can also refer to this similar case:

Hi belrager,

This problem is very strange, this might be not a issue about settings in Excel.

Please try to clean up temp files in the computer. Most issues that involve excessive or corrupt temp files can be resolved by deleting the contents of a user's local temp folder. Here are the locations of temp folders in Windows:

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Temp

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files

C:\Windows\Temp

C:\Temp

Please try it.

Issue is still happening after resetting temp folders. Also, ran the following:

excel /unregserver
then
Windows Start Button|Run
excel /regserver

and it was of no help.
