Wrong Domain name on E-mails
I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to be posting in but here it goes. I'm setting up a test Exchange Server 2007 for the domain Hobbit-Hosting. Now here is what i've done. Installed Windows 2003 64bit Std Server on my Machine, made it a Domain Controller called Hobbit and with the domain name hobbit-hosting.local (this machine has been set-up for a while and have decided to change my mail to Exchange) I then installedSQL Server 2005 Std, then Exchnage 2007 Now i've configured a SEND Connector thing with address * Configured a new user called neil.harding from within Exchange 2007 Now this is where the problem comes in. When i add users they get added with @hobbit-hosting.local as the address. Now as a quick test i used Outlook Web Access (this is what i'm planning on using for all E-mails) logged in as neil.harding and sent a quick email to <me>@googlemail.com and <myname>@charlies.uk.com Now the googlemail account got the mail but the from address was neil.harding@hobbit-hosting.local, the charlies.uk.com address failed witha 450 4.5.0 error ( shown below) which i'm guessing is due to the domain.local address and not having my proper address. I am not sure what the problem is. This is the expected behavior of Exchange 2007 (or Exchange 2003). Any Exchange Organization will take the windows domain name @hobbit-hosting.local(not a valid address on the Internet) as its first and primary email address @hobbit-hosting.local. However, you can set @hobbit-hosting.com (a valid address on the Internet)in Exchange as a SECONDand PRIMARY email address. Please email Linh at linhvuus@yahoo.com
