accessing webmail if internal DNS is down
currently I have exchange and owa setup in my internal network.
users can access the webmail via https://mail.company.com. this domain name has a public Internet IP address from ISP.
How can my users access the webmail via the same domain name if there is network outage in my internal network ?
eg. AD and DNS server is down. currently if there is network outage, we will direct users to access the webmail via the public IP address.
any suggestions is welcome

Hi,
Users should not be able to access webmail if AD is down - Exchange server won't run without AD

Hi,
It's difficult to access anything if name resolution does not work, but if they can resolve the url for the webmail you must just communicate that fact to the users - maybe via an intranet page or??

Hi
Test to reach it through the IP address if it's very critical..

If DNS is down, the domain name will not be resolved. Then, OWA and other client will not be accessed normally.
Thanks.
