adding srv record to dns

I am trying to add the srv records to my dns server, the Microsoft settings say use the '@' sign but my host will not allow that or to leave it blank which is the other suggestion in the Microsoft help. I managed to get around all of the other setting by using the domain name i.e. contoso.com but if I try this the Office365 DNS checker says it is wrong. any ideas on how to fix this as I do not want to change the management of DNS to Microsoft.

thanks in advance

Hi,

this is the forum for Office client software.
Since your question is about the hosted/cloud aspects of Office365, the dedicated Office365 community is probably a better place for assisting you.

The Domain/DNS subforum of Office365 community might be best:

Here's a useful article, showing how to manage your DNS records for various Registrars, and even if your registrar isn't listed, you may be able to use the examples and apply to your scenario.
