after Exchange 2007 SCC active mailbox role setup - ExBPA shows watermark
Hallo, some days ago I setup a Exchange 2007 SP3 failover SCC Cluster on Windows Server 2008 R2 EE. There are three Nodes with two Clustered Mailbox Servers, two active (node 1, node 2) and one passive node (node 3). At the end of the setup of both active mailbox roles (nodes), there was an error (see remark at the end of this post). Both times the suitable shared cluster disk was still in the "available disks" group and not in the new created clustered mailbox server (cms) - so it was not possible for the setup to bring the cms online, and this was the reason for the setup error (I assume). I added the disk to the cms, reboot the server and after them I could successful start the cms and all runs well. There are no warnings or errors at the event logs. Now I run the ExPBA and this shows critical issues at both active mailbox nodes: "ClusteredMailboxServer is partially configured". In the registry I found the watermark entry (7448a073). After them I re-run the setup at the first active mailbox node: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- D:\>Setup.com /roles:Mailbox /newcms /CMSname:CMS1 /CMSIPAddress:10.10.1.14 /CMSSharedStorage /CMSDataPath:M:\Exchsrvr Welcome to Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Unattended Setup Preparing Exchange Setup The following server roles will be installed Clustered Mailbox Server The following server roles are already installed: Mailbox Role. Exchange Server setup encountered an error. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The ExchangeSetup.log shows: ... [28.07.2010 15:41:45] [0] End of Setup This sounds good, but the "Watermark" still remains (?). The third mailbox node (passive) shows no error at the end of setup. This node didn't try to create and bring online an cms ... so the setup finishes well. What should I do - remove the watermark ? Or move the CMA to the passive node and run the "passive" mailbox role setup at node 1 ?
