big5 & gb2312 char set in Exchange 2007
We are sending test mails to an application from Outlook 2007 using Taiwan/Chinese Traditional font. The app is receving mails from internal OWA and gmail with correct font & with the below charset: Content-Type: text/html; charset="big5" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable But when sending from Outlook getting garbled characters with the below header: Content-Type: text/html; charset="gb2312" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Do we need to apply any hotfix for Outlook or any RU in exchange to get the correct font from Outlook 2007.Ahmed Ali

It's probably better to ask this question in an Outlook forum. Outlook is making the decision about the character set based on its scanning of the message. You may be able to deal with this by creating a contact and providing the necessary character set there. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

Hello Ahmed, Since the content-type is correct in OWA, this may not issue on the Exchange Side. I suggest you follow Rich's suggestion to ask the question in Outlook forum. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/outlook/threads Thanks, EvanEvan Liu TechNet Community Support
