On my laptop I get the message "The file or directory C:/Users is corrupt and unreadable. Please run chk disk utility." The problem is I can't log. I have tried the safe mode but still can't find a way to run the chk disk utility.

You can't login because it is corrupt? try this First do you either have a boot disk like (the windows cd) or access to a floppy drive and a floppy disk, it could also work with a cd bunner. You can create a start up disk by formating a blank cd or a working floppy.
