client reports that senders display name appears in chinese
Hello, One of my end users called me yesterday to let me know that he sent a few emails to a client yesterday... the client replied stating that my users' display name is appearing in chinese. i have never encountered this particular issue. My user has an Exchange 2007 mailbox accessed via Outlook 2003. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks !

Hi, Try these steps please. To resolve this problem, install Update Rollup 4 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1) on the Exchange server. For more information about Update Rollup 4 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1, see the following Exchange Help topic: Description of Update Rollup 4 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=152556) For more information about how to obtain the latest Exchange service pack or update rollup, see the following Exchange Help topic: How to Obtain the Latest Service Pack or Update Rollup for Exchange 2007 (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=152570) After you apply this hotfix, type the following command in the Exchange Management Shell to enable this feature for a specific remote domain: Set-remotedomain -Identity <remote domain name>-UseSimpleDisplayName $true To enable this feature for all remote domains, type the following command: Get-remotedomain | set-remotedomain -UseSimpleDisplayName $true Additionally, you can verify that the option is enabled on a specific remote domain by typing the following command: Get-remotedomain -Identity <remote domain name> | format-list These are the steps from that article which I provided earlier also error 1144 is not related to your problem.
