So a couple more things;
1. Where are you loading the program from, i.e. on the server, workstation etc. If from a workstation do you have any network bottlenecks along the way etc?
2. I don't think they are multi-threaded so that will increase the export time and I would look real close at the resulting data set because many of the lower end products are questionable when it comes to completeness and accuracy and the last thing you
want to do is find out that you have bad data
3. Wherever you are doing the backup/export from I would try to write the data to a local drive that is not supporting any other application, i.e. just for writing PST data, this will increase performance.
4. The other thing to consider would be to treat this like a full/incremental backup process, i.e. do a Full backup to PST on Friday nights and then incremental for everyday thereafter and only have it export the new data. Yes you would then have 7
PST's for each user for the week but its allot lower overhead
*** More importantly why are you exporting to PST in the first place, i.e. just as a backup method or is something else going on? If just as a backup then why not backup the EDB and then use a 3rd party utility to export from the offline EDB's when
needed?
**** If you are looking for a quality tool you should really focus on the top 3 tools in the market which are Lucid8's DigiScope, Kroll Power Controls and Quest/Dell Recovery manager for Exchange. Of course I can give you reasons to buy Lucid8's product
since Accuracy matters and our reputation is known worldwide, however IF Accuracy Matters to you (and it should) then if you take DigiScope out of the running I would highly recommend that you go with one of the other two
