couldn't find MS-Server-ActiveSync and MS-ASProtocolVersions

Dears,

i have Exchange 2010 SP3 RU9 Setup  composed of 2 CAS/HUB Servers, and 2 Mailbox Servers..

all Mailboxes hosted in Exchange 2010 still,  i introduced Exchange 2013 CAS/MBX Servers   and redirect the OWA/ Active Sync/ Outlook Anywhere to CAS 2013 , now everything is OK except  Active Sync  ,  users who are hosted in Exchange2010 Servers cannot connect to Active Sync,  i tested to host one account in Exchange 2013 Mailbox and worked perfect..the issue only with Mailboxes in Exchange 2010 seems Proxying not working fine..

i tested using remote connectivity and get this error   "couldn't find MS-Server-ActiveSync and MS-ASProtocolVersions"..any help is appreciated

thanks

Hi,

Have you tried checking out the ActiveSync virtual directory on your Exchange 2013 server? Check to see what methods of authentication you have checked. We're looking probably for Basic authentication with no SSL requirement and no redirect configured.

Also, you want to be sure the back-end virtual directory for ActiveSync also exists on the 2013 server in question. Check that out, too.

Good luck.

Assuming all the servers are in the same AD site, then based on a very good blog post, the 2013 CAS should proxy the request over to a 2010 CAS (pointed by the RpcClientAccessServer attribute of the user's mailbox database), who will then connect to the backend 2010 MBX.

Currently there are 2 ActiveSync tests in the Microsoft Remote Connectivity Analyzer: one for the ActiveSync Autodiscover and another for ActiveSync itself. Is all ok with the Autodiscover one - eg. do you get to see the XML handed back by the server containing the connection details ? As for the second test, Autodiscover itself - if you expand all the results, where do you see the first error coming up ? Is authentication being performed correctly ?

Another thing that could be checked is the Application log on the CAS servers involved in the proxying, right after running the Remote Connectivity Analyzer.
