Hi,
Did you stop the Information Store Service?
Just dismount your store but keep the service "Information Store" running.

Why do you want to run an offline defrag on Exchange 2007? There should be very few scenarios where an offline defrag is required?

You don't need to run an offline defrag for that, simply create a new Mailbox Database and move all the mailboxes to it. This will drop the white space naturally. Simple delete the original DB once all mailboxes moved.
Defrag can take a long time to run, is not without its risks and is wholly unnecessary with Exchange 2007 and above.

-1022 may indicate underlying disk subsystem issues. Are there errors in the System event log? An offline defrag is probably not what you need to do at this point.

How to reduce the database space and get the actual size:
You could make a full backup and the large logs will be delete automatically.
You also could create a new mailbox database and move all your mailboxes to the new database.
It
is not safe to defag your database when your database have some problem it will cause lose data.
Thanks
