delete email address for group
I have Exchange Server 2003 SP2, single server environment. I have a group (Security Group - Global) that has a set of email addresses, and I need to delete one of them. I am willing to delete all the email addresses but not the group itself. How do I do that? The exchange tasks wizard gives warning of dire results for the Remove Exchange Attributes task (as if it might delete Exchange attributes from all members of the group?) so I don't want to run it unless I know the group won't be deleted nor the members individually modified.

I couldn't understand it fully. Can you give brief detail what you want to do, with an example? Do you want to remove one of member from group or need to remove one of the email address which is assigned to group itself?About Remove Exchange Attribute task, it will make the group mail disabled by removing all exchange attributes of particular group and you can not send emails to group anymore or coudn't find group name in Global Address list in Outlook.Amit Tank | MVP - Exchange | MCITP:EMA MCSA:M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

I think that will do what I want. The group is CertainUsers and is used for file share access control. Somehow the group got assigned the email account CertainUsers@mydomain.com. We host email for several domains, and I guess some policy gave the group email addresses CertainUsers@domain1.com, CertainUsers@domain2.com, etc. I now need to remove all addresses to domain2.com (because we no longer host them) and have no policy access nor direct access to the CertainUsers group email addresses. I removed all domain2.com references in the recipient policies and from each user that had a domain2.com email address. My concern was that if I run the utility that there would be some unwanted removal of individual user email addresses or mailboxes. If the only effect is that the group has no inbound email addresses nor the capability to send email on behalf of the group, then I have no problem.
