e2k7: scripting e-mail rules and folder creation
is there a way to create folders in user's mailboxes via script as well as create e-mail rules for individual users?as part of our policy everyone inour organization has few default folders, which are created manually:- aaExtDir - mail originating outside of our organization sent directly to the individual and not through any groups- aaIntDir - internal mail sent directlyand for the same folders we setup rules individuallyis there a way to automate any of the above?

You can create custom managed folders with MRM in Exchange 2007 and you can set retention period also on it with MRM policies.References:Deploying Messaging Records Managementhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123548.aspxExchange 2007 Messaging Records Management (Part 1)http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/compliance-policies-archiving/exchange-2007-messaging-records-management-part1.htmlOutlook Rules: Well, Exchange Shellcan not touch/create the outlook rules and I guess, EWS also doesn't do that so you may need to find some other programmatic way to create rules inside all mailboxes.I would suggest you to post this query in Development forum to find better alternatives with automated approach.Microsoft TechNet>Forums Home>Exchange Server>DevelopmentAmit Tank | MVP - Exchange | MCITP:EMA MCSA:M | http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com
