emails with Apostrophe in address being bounced
Running Exchange 2007, rollup 8 on Server 2008 + SP2. Apparently someone is having emails they send to us bounced back. It seems he has an apostrophe ' in his emal address. Unfortunately he can't send me the bounce message to see exactly what it says either! As far as I am aware it is legal to have an apostrophe in an email address e.g. mickey.O'flynn@somewhere.comCan anyone suggest why we may be bouncing them back?thanksI.T. Fixed it. It was my Watchguard Firebox that was not allowing ' characters in the incoming address format.I.T. Manager

Hi,According to the specification the Exchange 2007 allows apostrophe in the local part of the e-mail address. Is there any other software in your infrastructure (mail gateway, spam filter, antivirus) what touches the messages?Regards,Zoltnhttp://www.clamagent.org - Free Antivirus for Exchange
