error deleting disconnected mailbox
hi
i am running exchange 2010 and having tremendous difficulty deleting disconnected mailboxes
i am running the following command
[PS] C:\>Remove-StoreMailbox -Database 175575789 -Identity "custodian" -MailboxState Disabled
And I receive the error
The term 'Remove-StoreMailbox' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again.
At line:1 char:20
Why is this and what can I do to force the deletion of these mailboxes.
Thanks

Hi there,
First of all are you running Exchange 2010 SP1 or above? Remove-StoreMailbox was introduced with SP1
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff829913.aspx
Secondly, if you are running SP1 or above, please ensure you have the relevant rights to run the command and you are not confined via RBAC as to which cmdlets you can run.
Lastly - you can set these to be deleted automatically after X amount of days and after a succesful backup. Please note doing this manually like you are if the latter is in place won't physically shrink the size of your database on your disk drives - it
will just free up some white space within the database.

To get the Exchange Server version, in Powershell: Get-ExchangeServer. Look at the AdminDisplayVersion property.
14.1 = SP1, 14.2 SP2
