I have a DC server win2003 and Exchange server 2007 on member server running windows 2003. My email server is gets slow after some hour. It happens after every 2 to 3 hour. I found that eseutil start automatically and make server slow so mail flow causing problem. I did some search and asking me to run eseutil to defrage storage group database. Can you please suggest how to do that and before start doing what precousion need to take. Thanks, Kanti

There is typically no reason to run eseutil. Why is it running automatically? I would stop that process.

You don’t need to run Eseutil every day. Don’t confuse online defrag with esetuil defrag. There is really no reason eseutil can make mail flow very slow. Default time is 1-5 AM which is non business hours for company. Please run EXBPA to see if it give any error in report. What is exactly you see for mail flow problem, is it delayed message or sender get any NDR too.Anil

Hi kdc1908, Any update for your issue? Please confirm there is no script to start the eseutil, because the maintedance scheduled on from 2:am to 6:00am by default for exchange 2007 and other time would not run. Regards! gavin
