event id 2937 public folder database

(2007 -> 2013 migration)

After forcing a delete on an Exch 2007 server public folders via ADSI edit, and then cleanly deleting the storage groups from the 2007 GUI I'm getting the error below in my 2013 SP1

NB I did not migrate the public folders. Also the current mailbox database in Ex13Sp1 does not have a msExchHomePublicMDB attribute.

Hi,

According to the error message, it indicate that database MailboxDatabaseEx15 point to an deleted public folder.
Please run Get-MailboxDatabase | FL Identity,*Public* to check the value of the PublicFolderDatabase, also check it in ADSI edit.

If this issue persists, please try to force Replication Between Active Directory. Please refer to: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/232072

Thanks

I did find a helpful reference here  which pointed to another place in the AD to edit as follows:

Navigate to the container that holds the Exchange administrative groups. For Exchange 2010 youll find this in CN=Services -> CN=Microsoft Exchange -> CN=(your organization name) -> CN=Administrative Groups

Right-click the administrative group CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT) and choose Properties.
Scroll down until you find the siteFolderServer attribute.
Highlight it and then click Edit.
Click the Clear button so that the value changes to not set.

That seems to have helped, but I am still getting further error messages.

Allen Wang

Thanks for the reply Allen, as you can see from a recent post of mine I have improved the situation, but am still getting error messages. I ran the script you suggested the result is:

Identity : MailboxDatabaseEx15 PublicFolderDatabase : domain.local/Configuration/Deleted Objects/Public Folder Database DEL:2924c7d4-bf23-45c9-b0b5-bfce64fe88a0 IsPublicFolderDatabase : False

Now I can see a value in ADSI edit for the attribute msExchHomePublicMDB on CN=MailboxDatabaseEx15 which I can now clear. Hopefully that will be it.

It has now been some hours after clearing the value for msExchHomePublicMDB, I have also rebooted the exchange server and event id 2937 no longer occurs.
