exch 2013 on Hyper-V Can not shrink the VHD

I have Exch 2013 Server and WS2012 Hyper-V in a POC environment.

When i 1st created the VM, it was approx 30GB in size....

After several months of usage in a POC, the VM has grown to over 66gb.

I then deleted some *log files, and i got it back to its original size of 30GB...

I then "compress" the VM using the Hyper-V Console.

But the VM is still occupying ~ 66 gb on the disk drive.

What steps am i missing to get it back to the original size

Thanks in Advance

when you say "compress" are you referring to compact option in Hyper-v?

similar issues have been discussed a few times on technet. please refer below thread

In case above thread doesn't help you. please provide further details.

Thanks.
