exchange 2007 - SBS - new accepted domain
Hi guys,
Im new to exchange so please bare with me.... :-)
I have setup SBS 2008 and the company will have a few different domains which they want to manage through their exchange environment, currently there is no email being used through exchange.
I have gone onto the domain management and created a mail.domain1.co.uk record pointing to the static ip address of the SBS server. I have done an nslookup and confirmed this domain1.co.uk is pointing to the correct ip.
On the exchange console, I have created a new authoritative accepted domain for domain1.co.uk
When i log onto the client - Windows7 machine and run outlook 2010
It autodetects the username@domain1.co.uk
Click Next
Establish network connection
Search Username@domain1.co.uk server settings fails ( it keeps prompting for username and password ) when i enter the users AD credentials it doesn't accept.
The user doesn't already have an email account on this domain at all.
What am i doing wrong?
Can anyone assist.
Thanks

Bare with you?! Sorry, but I'm not taking my clothes off.
If the user doesn't have a mailbox, he won't be able to log on to Exchange. Be aware that the logon credentials are not necessarily the same as the e-mail address. The user will log on with the user principal name, and while that can be the same
as the e-mail address, it may be different. If you want them to be the same and you are hosting multiple e-mail domains, then you're going to have to add the UPN suffixes to your domain.
