exchange 2007 IMAP access
Hi guys, This is my first post so please let me know if there is a better area for this question. I'm looking at an issue with IMAP access. I'm wondering if there is a way to get exchange 07 to advertise and accept UIDPLUS in IMAP transactions. Exchange 03 did this by default but 07 does not. The specific reason for wanting this capability is that the iPhone uses UIDPLUS expunge command to delete messages on the fly rather than waiting for the delete interval set on the iPhone. I've searched high and low on technet, the exchange team blog, and of course standard kb. Set-imapsettings doesn't have anything for me and I don't see anything useful in the imap.config or in the registry. Any help would be appreciated. I've copied some logs below for reference. Hi,
Based on my research, we do not have a method to have Exchange 2007 server to advise and accept UIDPLUS command in IMAP session. Based on currently situation, our Product team does not have plan to add it in Exchange 2007. Nevertheless, Our Product team is working on it in Exchange 2010 currently.

I checked this on our 2010 RC cas in the lab and unfortunately I don't see UIDPLUS as part of the capability response. Is it possible I need to make a settings change? If it's not there in RC is it possible to get confirmation that this will be in the RTM. I see on the exchange blog that the code has been finalized, although I know that there is still the possibility for minor revisions. I looked at IMAP docs for 2010 and they look pretty much the same as 2007.

Hi, Thanks for your response. I would like to explain that we have an internal case opened currently regarding to have Exchange 2010 to support UIDPLUS command. Nevertheless, after reviewing the internal case, I do not get futher information regarding when the UIDPLUS will be supported in Exchange 2010. Sorry for inconvenience. Thanks,Mike
