can anybody help me?I think I have fallen foul of the new server restrictions.I have a small new network to install.I was advised to go the server 2008 route, with exchange 2007.theis is a single server sute and the exchange install is telling me that I don't have a mailbox database.all the sites I have looked at have told me that 2007 exchange will NOT work on server 2008 unless there is a server 2003 in there somewhare.This seem ridiculous to me, I have spent a week on this one, the client is getting itchy.If I cannot resolve this soon, I will format the drives and go for server 2003 and exchange 2003, at least that works.why do Microsoft do this? HI Andy, thanks for getting back to me,it is a single server environment, server 2008 R2 ( this is the problem, I think)domain controller with global catalog,when I go into exchange I get the message "your exchange organisation has no servers with themailbox server role installed"It is a small network with about 12 users, I am wondering if 2008 SBS would be the way to go, the install is less than 21 days old.I have 2 more networks to install in the next month, so even if I do go the sbs route, I will still have this problem in the future.I have booked a server 2008 course for next week, but the client is getting itchy, as I have been some time on the install.I think I have just answered my query, go with sbs, and stick with 2008 for exchange, until support is available for R2.kind regardsGrant

If the OS version for Exchange Server is Windows Server 2008 R2, then please uninstall Exchange Server and then install Exchange Server on other supported OS.If the DC version is Windows Server 2008 R2,then it is the supported OS version in Exchange environment.Regards,Xiu
