export-mailbox to PST fails using date range
Exchange server is running Windows 2003 x64 SP2 and Exchange 2007 x64 SP1 w/ HF rollup 7.Client machine is running Windows 2003 SP2 x86 and has 32-bit Outlook 2003 in online mode, plus Exchange 2007 management tools. On all mailboxes in question, the logged on account has FullAccess permissions and no Deny permissions, nor any group memberships with Deny permissions. All attempts to export-mailbox to PST using a StartDate/EndDate range quickly end with: Error occurred in the step: Moving messages. Failed to copy messages to the destination mailbox store with error: MAPI or an unspecified service provider.ID no: 00000000-0000-00000000, error code: -1056749164If I remove the date range parameters, the entire mailbox exports properly.Since I've seen numerous others mention this same problem, I'm just wondering if it's been fixed in the SP2 release. Thanks,Mike

Hi Mike,
Please check whether the issue persists after installing Rollup 8.
Error message when you export an Exchange 2007 mailbox to .pst file and a filter is defined: "Export-Mailbox : Error was found for <username> (<SMTP address>)"

Thanks, Mike, but I won't be permitted to make any changes for another 6 weeks (we have a Q4 freeze in place). At that time, my intent is to to go directly to SP2 and any subsequent HF rollups that have been released by then. Hopefully that will resolve this issue. Thanks for the link. Regards, Mike

Hi Mike and Mike,Let me try to add to this discussion. We are trying to run export-mailbox using Exchange 2007 SP1 and rollup 8 and are still getting various errors. We do have -enddate "12/31/2005" specified. Some mailboxes export fine with no errors, some say they worked fine but skip some number of corrupted messages, some fail completely with the MAPI error noted above, some export a few current messages ignoring the -enddate and then stop. Quite a variety of results. We do have mailboxes on Exchange 2007 SP1 RU8 with Windows 2008 SP1, also mailboxes on Exchange 2003 SP2 with Windows 2003 SP2. The export-mailbox is running on XP SP3 with Outlook 2007 and the 32-bit Exchange Management Tools, using an account with appropriate permissions set. The errors do not seem to be associated with the target Exchange servers -- any error could come from any server. This is in initial testing status, and we do not have a lot of specific detail. It does seem related to the -enddate selection, also possibly to the presence or absence of subfolders in the mailboxes.Joe Larson
