failed uninstall of exchange 2007
I had a engineer go to a site and install a new 2008 server in a existing one doman one 2008 server situation. He installe dthe server dcpromod the box and then installed exchange 07 not sure what happened form that point but he tried to uninstall exchnage and was not able to then tried to remove teh server from the domain and failed tehn forced removed it and in teh process deleted a dns zone for the domainI have come in and created the dns zone so AD is working. Then added the server back to the domain just as a member server. Then tried to uninstall exchnage 07 and with troubleshooting founf that Information store service needs to be started, and it will not start it is timing out error. any help out there this is a nightmare all I need to do to fix teh project is get 07uninstalled and install it back on. ideas hel tips prayers trhank you

thank you for the reply I am tearing my hair out over here i have used this doc and I tried the unattened and I tried add remive programs tehy all fail because the information store willnot start. I just ran it again and I get teh following error.
error
uninstall cannot continue database public folder database exchange is unable to check teh public folder replica for diobr-mail\second storage group public folder databse verify the microsoft information store service is running on server and that the database is propery configured
I can not get the Information store to start as stated above thank you so much and really coudl use the help.

Hi , as you have said this was a new member server and you are supposed to install EX07 on this server. And since then it all messed you are unable to uninstall it.
In this case I'd have reinstall the whole OS instead of wasting this much time. This doesn't seems to be a critical setup but whenever I've to work on some new OS or new setup I do it either at the office on a testing envirnonment or in a virtual PC etc.

If you want to move on troubleshoot the issue,then please post back the detail error information,includingthe error code,error source,and error event from event log etc.
