What version of Windows and Exchange Service Pack you have installed? With Exhcange 2007 SP1/SP2 + Windows 2003 or Exchange 2007 SP2 + Windows 2008, you can use NTBackup and take full backup of Exchange database which will flush the transaction logs. Thanks for replyBut I have left only 14 gb free space and the users are now not able to log in through OWA. Total size of databse is 518 GB. It will take along time to take backup through NTBACKUP utility. So I want to flush the logs with out wasting any time. I can not spare time to complete backup. Please guide.

You can delete/move thecommittedtransaction logs but you need to take the backup immediately after it so that can be used for any kind of disaster recovery. If you are not using CCR then you can check below method... Move Committed Exchange Transaction Logs http://exchangeshare.wordpress.com/2008/05/22/move-committed-exchange-transaction-logs/ Also it is recommended to create multiple databasesand control theindividualdatabase size at 100GB (if using CCR then 200GB)...Amit Tank MVP: Exchange Server | MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, ConfigurationMCITP: EMA | MCSA: M | Blog: http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

It will not change the path for log files permanently. You could delete all of these log files after you have a full backup.

Hi, The xml file is generated by Exbpa, it's Exbpa report. You could delete it. For the log files, as I mentioned above, you could delete all of them after you take a full backup. You could delete all the logs without taking a backup if you dont have space to do so, but it's not recommended. Thanks, Elvis

I just wanted to chime in about NTbackup. I don't think it will take as long as you realize. I am using it as a temporary solution while I am waiting for my other backup software. I don't have as much data as you. I am backuping up about 360gb. I takes me about 3 hours to complete.
