Assuming it's a mail-enabled contact, the targetAddress and the primary SMTP proxy address should be identical and it's the targetAddress property that's used as the destination when you send e-mail to the contact. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

Change the targetAddress from the "Exchange General" tab. Click on the "Modify..." button. That should also change the primary SMTP proxy address. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

I needed to change the forwarded external address, internal address remains the same Hi Nick, You can also create a new mail enabled contact for the new external address, then change Forwarding Address property of mailbox.
