I have a compaq presario sr1200nx desktop running windows xp sp2. I have attached a compaq fp 5315 monitor. In device manager under other devices, it lists (with a yellow exclamation point) video controller (vga compatible). I try to install the drivers for the monitor off the disk and it keeps giving me an error saying disk does not contain information needed. I try to download the drivers for the onboard graphics card and the monitor directly from HP.com and I get errors such as: component transfer error, catastrophic error (this one appears when trying to install monitor drivers). When trying to install the via onboard graphics drivers i get an error code (several characters long starting out with 76b) and when i try to cancel installation or retry it just keeps coming up until eventually it says : not enough space on disk c:, however my harddrive letter is I as there are several usb ports for camera disks, etc. Anyone able to help with this or if more info is needed please reply to this post and i will repost any relevant info needed. I have tried to use the trouble shooter which advises going into display properties and clicking settings>advanced>monitor>properties, however the properties button is faded out not allowing me to click on it. Please help. thx
